Ingredients

- 2 tbspKetchup(optional) — Optional, can substitute with tamarind
- 3 tbspTamarind SauceAbout 3-4 tablespoons

- 1 tbspWhite Sesame SeedsFor topping
- 1 tspCumin
- 1 tspGaram Masala
- 2 tbspOlive Oil
- 1 pcsPuff PastryStore-bought or homemade
Method
- Finely chop the onion.
- In a pan, toast the garam masala and cumin for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add oil and the chopped onion to the pan and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a whisk, until browned and no longer clumpy.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add ketchup and tamarind sauce (about 3-4 tablespoons of tamarind) and stir well. Cook until the mixture is dry and creamy.
- Add sugar and pine nuts, mix well, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (ventilated).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a flat surface. Place the meat filling in the center, leaving the edges free.
- Fold the pastry edges over the filling and press to seal, forming a round pie. Prick the top to release steam.
- Beat an egg with a drop of oil and brush over the pastry.
- Sprinkle white sesame seeds on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 200°C until golden brown and crispy.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
