A creamy pasta dish with fresh and frozen peas, cooked in a pea broth and finished with pecorino, lemon zest, mint, and basil.

Ingredients

Method
- Finely chop a fresh onion and sauté it in a pot until softened.
- Add both frozen and fresh peas to the pot and sauté briefly.
- Add water and cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pea pods, rinse them, and add them to the water to create a pea broth.
- Add the fresh peas to the broth.
- Add ditalini pasta to the pot and cook, adding the pea broth as needed when the pasta dries out.
- Grate pecorino romano cheese.
- Grate lemon zest over the pasta.
- Add fresh mint and basil, stirring gently.
- Turn off the heat, then add black pepper, a drizzle of olive oil, and pecorino cheese.
- Serve and enjoy.
