Soft and fluffy hamburger buns just like the ones you get at a pub, made at home with simple ingredients and step-by-step instructions by Manu Food.
Method
- In a stand mixer bowl, add the milk, yeast, eggs, and sugar. Mix for a few minutes.
- Add all the flour (Manitoba and 00) and knead at moderate speed for a few minutes. Add the remaining milk if needed.
- Switch to the dough hook and continue kneading. Add the salt.
- Once the dough is well developed, slowly drizzle in the sunflower oil.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and work it by hand to form a ball.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled (or speed up by placing in oven at 30°C).
- Once risen, divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let rise again (can speed up in oven at 30°C).
- Brush the risen buns with a little milk.
- Bake in preheated oven until golden brown.
- Brush the baked buns with sunflower oil for shine.
