Method
- Cut a soft loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
- Remove a small amount of the inner crumb (mollica) to create space.
- Drizzle a generous amount of high-quality olive oil over the bread.
- Generously rub and sprinkle dried Sicilian oregano over the oil.
- Break the anchovy fillets into small pieces and distribute them evenly across the bread.
- Slice the tomatoes thinly and arrange them over the bread, adding a small pinch of salt.
- Add slices of Primo Sale cheese across the surface.
- Optional: Break up fresh Mediterranean tuna fillets and distribute them over the cheese.
- Drizzle with another touch of olive oil and add a few more tomato slices if desired.
- Close the sandwich, press down firmly, and let it rest for 2 minutes to let the flavors meld before serving. Alternatively, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
