A refreshing shrimp dish with a South American twist, marinated in citrus and combined with cucumber, onion, and chili peppers. Served with crispy tortillas, it's a perfect summer appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

- Coarse SaltTwo grains
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined)Peeled and deveined
- WaterFor boiling
- 1 pcsOrange (for the Marinade)For marinade
- 1 pcsLimeJuice for marinade
- 1/2 pcsOnionHalf onion, chopped
- CucumberChopped
- Mixed Chili PeppersFrom mild to hot, to taste
- Fresh Parsley(optional) — Chopped, optional
- Tortilla ChipsFor serving
Method
- Cut the orange in half and squeeze the juice into boiling water.
- Add two grains of coarse salt.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for 60 seconds until they change color.
- Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water (cold water) to stop cooking.
- Transfer the shrimp to a bowl.
- Prepare the marinade: squeeze fresh orange and lime juice over the shrimp.
- Let marinate for about 30 minutes.
- Chop half an onion and add it to the bowl.
- Chop cucumber and add it.
- Add chili peppers, starting from the mildest to the hottest.
- Let the flavors blend for 20-30 minutes.
- Add fresh parsley (optional) and mix.
- Add tortilla chips and toss gently.
- Serve in a glass or bowl, composing the salad with tortillas on top or on the side.
