Method
- Combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, sugar, and instant yeast (baking powder) in a bowl. Mix well.
- Add egg, honey, milk, and sour cream (or buttermilk or kefir). Mix until smooth.
- Add a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt. Mix again.
- Dry the sausages thoroughly with paper towels. Insert a wooden stick into each sausage from the bottom.
- Use a beer glass to dip each sausage into the batter, coating evenly.
- Immediately fry in hot oil (about 170-180°C), spooning hot oil over the top to help it puff. Fry until golden brown.
- Serve with ketchup or mayonnaise.
