A rich, creamy Italian-style hot chocolate made with cocoa, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and milk. Perfect for a cozy treat.

Ingredients
6 items- 60 gUnsweetened CocoaSift if possible to remove lumps
- 40 gSugar
- 10 gCornstarchOr use all-purpose flour if cornstarch is unavailable
- Aroma di VanigliaTo taste
- MilkAmount needed to achieve desired consistency; about 300-400 ml
- Whipped Cream(optional) — Optional garnish
Method
- Place 60 g of bitter cocoa powder in a bowl. Sift if possible to remove lumps.
- Add vanilla extract, 40 g of sugar, and 10 g of cornstarch (or flour if you don't have cornstarch).
- Mix with a whisk until combined.
- Add about half of the milk and stir until the mixture is thick and dense. Use the whisk to break any lumps.
- Add the remaining milk and mix gently.
- Pour the mixture into a small saucepan.
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Do not leave unattended to prevent burning.
- Continue stirring until the chocolate thickens and becomes creamy. This will happen in the last few minutes.
- Serve immediately. Optionally, top with whipped cream.
