- 250 gGranulated Sugar
- Vanilla Extract(optional) — to taste, or use lemon/orange zest
- 160 gSeed Oilor butter, same quantity
- 185 gMilkor water for a lighter version
- 375 gFlour
- 20 gInstant Yeast For Dessertsbaking powder
- Salt(optional) — a pinch
- 2 tbspUnsweetened Cocoa Powderunsweetened cocoa powder
- Burro (per lo stampo)(optional) — for greasing the pan
- Acqua (per lo sciroppo)(optional) — for the glaze syrup, quantity not specified
- Zucchero (per lo sciroppo)(optional) — for the glaze syrup, quantity not specified
Method
- Break the eggs into a large bowl.
- Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract; beat with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add vegetable oil and mix.
- Add milk (or water) and mix.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; fold into the batter until smooth.
- Butter and flour a bundt pan (or use baking spray).
- Pour about three-quarters of the batter into the pan.
- Add sifted cocoa powder to the remaining batter and mix well.
- Pour the cocoa batter on top of the white batter in the pan; use a skewer or knife to create a marbled effect by gently swirling.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for about 40 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly, then unmold the cake.
- Prepare a sugar syrup (water and sugar, proportions not specified) and brush it over the cake's surface to glaze.
- (Optional) Brush with melted chocolate.
