- Melt the butter in a pan. Add the milk and semolina, stirring constantly until a thick, workable dough forms.
- Allow the dough to cool, then knead in the crushed cardamom pods. Shape into a large sphere.
- Prepare the sugar syrup: combine water and sugar in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool slightly.
- Fry the sphere in plenty of hot vegetable oil until golden brown on all sides. Since it is too large to submerge, turn it carefully.
- Remove from oil, place on a plate, and pour the warm syrup over the ball. Let it absorb the syrup before serving.
