A perfect weekend breakfast: soft bread slices rolled with mascarpone and strawberries or hazelnut spread and banana, dipped in a fragrant egg-milk batter, pan-fried until golden, and served with fresh fruit, honey, and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Method
- Slice the fruit (banana, strawberries, or any preferred fruit) into thin slices.
- Take 4 slices of sandwich bread and flatten each with a rolling pin.
- For the first roll: spread mascarpone (or cream cheese) over the entire slice, place strawberry slices along one edge, and roll up tightly.
- For the second roll: spread hazelnut spread over the bread, add banana slices, and roll up.
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 80 ml milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla (or citrus zest), and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Dip each roll-up into the batter, coating evenly.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat with 15 g butter. Cook the roll-ups for a few minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with extra fruit, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
