A homemade version of the classic 90s Italian ice cream treat Cucciolone, made without an ice cream machine. Features a cookie base and three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and zabaglione.

Method

  1. Work the powdered sugar with the softened butter until well combined.
  2. Add the egg yolks and honey, and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add the flour, potato starch, and milk powder, then knead into a dough.
  4. Divide the dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  5. Whip the heavy cream with the rum, sugar, and condensed milk until firm.
  6. Divide the cream into three bowls: one plain (vanilla), one mixed with cocoa powder (chocolate), and one mixed with zabaglione cream (marsala).
  7. Take the dough, roll it out, and cut into rectangles. Optionally write something fun on them with a toothpick before baking.
  8. Bake the rectangles until golden.
  9. Assemble the ice cream by layering the cookie rectangles with the three cream flavors. Serve immediately or freeze.
  10. Serve and enjoy, perhaps with a Super Santos drink.
