A quick and easy summer appetizer: fresh fig slices pressed into a carpaccio, served with your choice of sweet or savory toppings.

Ingredients
9 items- FigsQ.B. – enough to cover the plate
- Raspberries(optional) — For the sweet-savory version
- Nocciole Tostate(optional) — Toasted hazelnuts, for the sweet-savory version
- Formaggio Caprino(optional) — Fresh goat cheese, for the sweet-savory version
- SaltSalt, to taste
- Extra Virgin Olive OilExtra-virgin olive oil, to drizzle
- Black PepperBlack pepper, to taste
- Prosciutto Crudo(optional) — For the classic version with honey
- Honey(optional) — Honey, for the classic version
Method
- Slice the figs into rounds slightly thicker than the edge of the plate.
- Arrange the fig slices on a plate, close together but not overlapping, as they will spread when pressed.
- Cover the figs tightly with plastic wrap, stretching it well.
- Press down firmly on the plastic wrap to flatten the figs into a carpaccio shape.
- Remove the plastic wrap carefully.
- Serve as is or add your choice of toppings: for a sweet-savory version, top with raspberries, toasted hazelnuts, fresh goat cheese, a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, salt, and black pepper; for a classic version, add salt, oil, pepper, prosciutto crudo, and honey.
