A Korean-style burger where rice patties replace bread, filled with sautéed kimchi, tuna salad, and cheese. Easy and fun to make at home.

Method

  1. Mix a bowl of cooked rice with one teaspoon of sesame oil and a handful of crushed toasted seaweed.
  2. Using a small bowl or ring mold, press the rice mixture into two compact discs.
  3. Pan-fry the rice discs in a non-stick pan for about 5 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  4. In the same pan, sauté a bowl of kimchi for 5 minutes until slightly caramelized.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix one can of drained tuna with mayonnaise and black pepper to taste.
  6. Assemble the burger: place one rice disc, add the sautéed kimchi, then the tuna mixture, and top with a slice of cheese (optional). Close with the second rice disc.
  7. Serve immediately while warm.
