Reviewers rave about the soulful polpette in umido, calling it a hearty, home-style triumph. The overall vibe is one of warm, unpretentious comfort that feels like a genuine Italian family kitchen.
“When I touched the meatball, it fell apart — that's how soft it is. The zucchini is also stuffed with the same ragù I had with the tagliatelle. Both the meatball and zucchini are just beautiful. The sauce is out of this world. The meatball meat is very fine, top quality. The zucchini is so succulent and delicious. This is heavenly food. The bread soaked in the sauce with all these amazing ingredients is unbelievably tasty. The roast potatoes are nicely baked with beautiful skin, some spices and herbs on top — soft and mushy inside, a little on the salty side but with beautiful spices. Absolutely delicious.”

Tagliatelle al Ragù
This is a completely different pasta al ragù than I've tried anywhere else in Italy. The sauce is not liquid at all — it really sticks to these tagliatelle. The tagliatelle absorbed the sauce completely, so they're full of taste and flavor. They're perfectly cooked, quite al dente, and very delicious. The owner told me they've owned this place since 1947 and the recipe is his grandma's — this is the way it should be made. The sauce accompanies the tagliatella, not overpower it. And because they make tagliatelle in-house, they have this special surface to absorb as much sauce as possible. Incredible.
