AI summary of what 2 dish mentions say about the food
Reviewers rave about the transcendent Tonkatsu, praising its impossibly crispy, airy crust and succulent pork. The overall vibe is one of reverent, joyful simplicity, elevating a classic dish into an unforgettable experience.
“This tonkatsu is a massive piece of pork, three fingers thick, with two tiny slices of white bread on the side. The meat is incredibly juicy, and the breading has a decent crunch. I have no idea how they managed to fry it so perfectly in oil. It's served with a sauce on top. The bread is just a way to hold it comfortably in your hand. For a piece of meat this thick, it's a lot of stuff. It costs about €12, and they only accept cash.”

A tiny, no-frills spot in Kyoto serving only two incredible katsu sando options — filet and sirloin — with perfect breading and a massive pork cutlet.

Katsu Sando
This place only does two dishes — filet and sirloin katsu sando — and you don't need anything else. The bread-to-crumb ratio is perfect. I asked for a knife to cut it, like in Italy, and they brought me an incredible Japanese knife — the kind where if I'm not careful I'd cut through the plate and table too. The cutlet was huge, like 95% pork and 5% bread. Seriously, very good. You'll leave smelling like fried food but totally satisfied. Highly recommended.
