    Loved

An omakase experience in Ikebukuro — the food was very good overall, with some standout dishes like the medium fatty tuna and the eel tempura, though a few dishes were just okay. Not super formal, but worth the €120.

    Dishes mentioned

    • Sashimi di Pesce Stagionale
    • Calamaro con Wasabi e Limone

Super slimy but flavourful. It's a mix of salt, lemon, savoury — just right. You can really taste it. The rice is also slightly crunchy — it's not the soft, tender sushi rice, it's al dente sushi.

    • Nigiri con Fegato e Pesce

There's a creamy sauce on top with liver and fish underneath — I'm not sure which fish, probably similar to the previous eel. I really like liver, so I think this dish will move me. Warm, consistent. The sauce gives that acidic touch, but I think it's part of the dish. It's creamy just right and there's a lime on the side — if you squeeze it, the acidity changes from acidic to sour, it loses that bitter aftertaste, enhances the flavour of the liver and the fish. This is very particular, a strong flavour, not an easy flavour, it doesn't beat the previous sushi, but so far we're doing great.

    • Nigiri di Pesce Autunnale

This is good. Mamma mia, good. You look at it and it looks like a sardine, but it's an anchovy — you look at it and it reminds you of a fish you wouldn't normally get at a sushi restaurant. When you come to Japan you look at it and say 'Ah, that's second category'. But it's not like tuna, but damn, this is really good. Plus there was this creamy sauce on top that accompanied the buttery flavour.

    • Sashimi con Fiori di Parigi e Ravanello

On top there are some Paris flowers and this is radish. Delicate flavour — really fresh, even the sweet sauce reminds me of tuna. Yes, with a slightly more delicate flavour, and I must say I appreciated it.
