In the heart of Alessandria, Sole Luna earns a stellar 4.7-star rating from its passionate local following. Creator Franchino Er Criminale, of *ALESSANDRIA criminale*, calls it "a great pizzeria" that excels with its signature pizza al padellino—the thick, pan-baked style served here with spicy salame. He also nods to a "decent farinata" and pizza in teglia, both earning his approval.
What truly sets Sole Luna apart is its warmth. Franchino notes the "incredibly friendly owners" who went so far as to send him to see a neighbor's nativity scene. It’s that blend of excellent craft and genuine hospitality that makes this spot a local gem worth seeking out.

AI summary of what 3 dish mentions say about the food
Sole Luna’s farinata earns rave reviews for its crisp, golden perfection, while the overall vibe is one of rustic, soul-warming comfort that feels like a hug on a plate.
“The farinata is a bit dry on top, not creamy inside as I hoped. It was freshly made and hot, but it's not exceptional — I'd give it a 6.5. Bad farinata is much worse, but it's not as good as some of you described it.”

Pizza al Padellino con Salame Piccante
This pizza al padellino with spicy salami is really good. The dough is very good, light, and has a nice airy crust even though padellino pizza doesn't usually have one. The topping is excellent — a nice spicy salami, very oily as you saw. The only problem is the cooking: it's a bit burnt on top and undercooked on the bottom, probably because the oven was too hot on top and the plate wasn't hot enough. If they fixed that, it could easily be an 8.5. I'd give it an 8 to 8.5 as it is. The price is fair, the place is super clean, and the staff are super friendly.
Pizza in Teglia
The pizza in teglia has a completely different dough from the padellino one — it's melt-in-your-mouth and loaded with ingredients. But I expected better. It's more than sufficient but not beyond a 6.5.
Farinata
The farinata is a bit dry on top, not creamy inside as I hoped. It was freshly made and hot, but it's not exceptional — I'd give it a 6.5. Bad farinata is much worse, but it's not as good as some of you described it.
