Reviewers rave about the soulful, rustic warmth of Pizzeria da Attilio, with the "Gatto di patate" emerging as the standout dish, a creamy, decadent potato bake that feels like a loving embrace.
“This gatto di patate is driving me crazy. It's not hot because it was reheated, it's hot because it just came out of the oven. The tomato is so good, the flavour is incredible. For me, places like this should be the norm, not rare pearls.”

Attilio La Pignasecca is a historic pizzeria from 1938 that serves classic Neapolitan pizzas without frills, exactly what you'd expect from a traditional spot.

Bacetto
We ordered a bacetto each — pizza dough with ricotta, provola, and arugula. Delicious, ricotta and provola together, what can I say. You won't always find it on the menu, they make it every now and then, so you'll be lucky too.
Frittatina di Pasta napoletane
Another frittatina di pasta — today it was with ragù and peas. This one is with peas and salame. It's good, fried very well. Inside it's creamy, the bucatini is cooked well. The little pieces of salame give that fatty touch that doesn't hurt, and that touch of green makes you think you're not about to die of cholesterol.
Pizza Margherita
The first pizza in Naples after many years could only be the margherita. Cooking is right. The triangle holds, the tomato is delicious. The dough is light, not at all rubbery. Nice, very good.
Marinara a Bottone
I asked for a marinara a bottone — marinara with grated cheese and pepper. You won't find it on the menu, you have to ask for it. I asked and the waitress thought I was Neapolitan despite my obvious Bolzano accent, because this is a little secret not everyone knows. It's very good. The marinara lets you taste the essence of pizza — tomato, garlic, a bit of oregano, and that touch of saltiness from the cheese with a push of pepper just adds pleasure to pleasure.
