The story

Perfetti, a pastry shop in Torino’s Borgo Vittoria neighborhood, has earned a solid 4.4-star rating and a loyal local following. Franchino Er Criminale, in his *Forni criminali* video, calls it a “decent bakery” and singles out the Focaccia Bianca and Focaccia Margherita as standouts, alongside a “nice” Maritozzo con Crema e Panna. He notes the quality is good, though the prices feel “slightly overpriced,” ultimately awarding the venue an 8 out of 10. With tags like old-school and neighborhood-favorite, this spot feels like a classic Italian corner café, perfect for a quick pastry and espresso.

The menu leans on simple, well-executed baked goods rather than avant-garde creations. While the pricing gave one critic pause, the unanimous praise for the focaccias and the cream-and-whipped-cream maritozzo suggests Perfetti knows its comfort food. It’s a welcoming, unpretentious stop in Turin’s bakery landscape—worth a visit if you’re craving a solid, old-school treat without the fuss.

Perfetti’s focaccia bianca earns rapturous praise, with its airy crumb and salty crust described as transcendent. The overall vibe is one of humble perfection, where simple ingredients become unforgettable.

The white focaccia — I was about to eat it and it was very soft, well seasoned with oil and salt, you can see it. The dough isn't bad, it doesn't make your eyes roll back, but you have to chew it a couple of times. It's a really well-seasoned focaccia, oil and salt all in the right place. The focaccia itself doesn't excite me, but it's good. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

The maritozzo — obviously boxed, for €3.70 it's fair they give you a box so it doesn't get ruined. The packaging is very nice. The color of the dough is very light, not what I expect from a classic Roman maritozzo. But it's good. The cream is there, the cream is inside — the classic traditional one like the Veneziana has no cream inside, only on top. Personally I prefer the Veneziana with cream inside, so I can understand that many people might like the maritozzo with cream and cream, not just cream. As a Roman, I see the maritozzo with all cream, but here the cream sneaks in. Anyway, it's good, it didn't make my eyes roll back, but I can't say it's a bad maritozzo at all. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
