The story
At Panificio Tressanti on Via Cibele, the Frama Twins discovered what they describe as large, generously filled *rame di Napoli* with flavors that are “possibly unique to them.” Among the standout creations are a ricotta and chocolate chip version — which the creators note the bakery invented itself — alongside options like Nutella Biscuits, pistachio, and Kinder Bueno.
Beyond the sweet *rame*, this Catania grocery store-bakery earns equally high marks for its savory street food. In a separate review, the same creators gave dishes like the cipollina al pistacchio and the cartocciata with pulled pork, cheddar, barbecue sauce, and crispy onion a solid 8.5 to 9 out of 10. The torciglione with sausage, chips, and mayo, plus the classic arancino al ragù and pizzetta catanese, round out a menu that feels both inventive and deeply rooted in local flavor.

AI summary of what 10 dish mentions say about the food
Reviewers celebrate Panificio Tressanti’s Rama di Napoli classica as the standout, a dish praised for its perfect, nostalgic simplicity. The overall vibe is one of warm, unpretentious comfort that feels like a cherished family tradition.
“The classic one is glazed on the bottom too, which is unusual. The dough is soft but maybe denser than the ricotta one. It's good, but the ricotta one had a softer, taller dough because it was freshly baked.”

Dishes mentioned
Rama di Napoli alla Ricotta
This is their flagship, a rama di Napoli with ricotta and chocolate chips. It's the first time I've tried this. It's incredibly full, fresh, and delicious. The biscuit is like a soft brioche. This beats everything, it's stupendous. I think they're the only ones who make it this way.
Rama di Napoli Nutella Biscuits
This one has Nutella, you can taste it. It's good, crazy good, but compared to the ricotta one, the ricotta is better. The ricotta one is on another level.
Rama di Napoli Classica
The classic one is glazed on the bottom too, which is unusual. The dough is soft but maybe denser than the ricotta one. It's good, but the ricotta one had a softer, taller dough because it was freshly baked.
Rama di Napoli al Pistacchio
This one is full of pistachio cream. You feel the pistachio immediately, it's aggressive and full. The biscuit is cocoa. Very good, loaded.
Rama di Napoli Kinder Bueno
This one has less cream than the pistachio one, but it's still good. It's a bit lighter, which is fine because I'm already full. It's good, obviously.

FORNO da 9 a CATANIA CENTRO - Ep.06 | Catania Food Tour · @ 0:08
Panificio Tressanti in Catania serves excellent, fresh street food — the cipollina al pistacchio, cartocciata with pulled pork, and pizzetta catanese are all top-notch, earning an 8.5 to 9 out of 10.
Dishes mentioned
Torciglione con Salsiccia Condita, Patatine, Pomodoro e Maionese
This is a rolled sandwich with seasoned sausage, fries, tomato, and mayo. The sausage is good and seasoned, giving it a stronger flavor — it's more of a younger person's product, but I really like it. It's well made and I can't wait to try the others.
Cipollina al Pistacchio
This is a cipollina with pistachio, prosciutto, mozzarella, and onion. The pistachio is inside the onion, and you can really taste it. The pastry is beautifully flaky, leaving crumbs on my fingers. The prosciutto and mozzarella are really fresh — you can tell because sometimes in other places the prosciutto is a bit dry. It's huge even when split in half. The pistachio isn't too overpowering, it's just right. Really, really good.
Cartocciata con Pulled Pork, Patatine, Salsa Cheddar, Salsa Barbecue, Mozzarella e Cipolla Croccante
This is a revamped cartocciata with pulled pork, fries, cheddar sauce, barbecue sauce, mozzarella, and crispy onion. It's a bomb — you can really taste the pulled pork and the onion. The fries help close it all together, but it would have been just as good without them. The mozzarella is there in quantity, you can see it coming out. Really well made. I can't decide which is the best between this and the cipollina — they're both at the top.
- Arancino
Pizzetta Catanese
This is the Catania-style pizzetta. It's quite oily compared to the other products — you'll get your hands dirty. The dough is very soft, with a slightly crunchy edge. The tomato and mozzarella are delicious, really fresh. It doesn't even feel like a bakery pizzetta, more like one from a bar. Honestly, among all the bakeries we've tried on YouTube, this is one of the best pizzettas, if not the best.
