The story
Tucked away on Via Gemmellaro, Panda Coreano has quickly become a standout in Catania’s food scene, boasting a rare 4.8-star rating. The Frama Twins, in their debut Korean dining experience in Sicily, praised the restaurant for its authentic dishes, friendly staff, and a beautiful atmosphere that “really transports you to Korea.” The menu highlights include Bulgogi, Toboko, and Caramelized Chicken Wings, all balanced by a serving of house-made Kimchi.
This hidden gem strikes a balance between casual comfort and Instagrammable charm, making it a must-visit for both Korean food devotees and curious first-timers. While the twins didn’t elaborate on specific flavors, the unanimous enthusiasm for the food and setting suggests a venue that delivers genuine Korean hospitality in the heart of Sicily.

Dishes mentioned
Bulgogi
This is the bulgogi — thin slices of sirloin with mushrooms, marinated and grilled on a hot plate. You take a lettuce leaf, add rice, the meat, and some sauces, then wrap it up like a kebab. It's spicy, very spicy, but delicious. The meat has a sweet-and-sour, spiced flavor that's really unique. With the rice and the lettuce, it's amazing — I think it's even better than the soup. It costs €20 for the whole set with rice, lettuce, meat, and sauces.
Toboko
This is the toboko — it costs €12. It has rice gnocchi in a spicy sauce with chili, spring onion, seaweed, fish tofu, a boiled egg, and crispy seaweed rolls with sesame seeds. The gnocchi are super creamy, a bit chewy — I think they're the rice gnocchi. The broth is hot, spicy, and also a little sweet. It's amazing, really good. The egg yolk is delicious. I managed to pick it up with chopsticks on the first try!
Alette di Pollo Caramellate
These are the caramelized chicken wings, coated in a sweet caramel sauce — not spicy at all, it just slides down. They're crunchy, really good. The owner told us they're made in a Korean style, with a different marinade and spices. They cost about €12. I'd definitely order them again next time.
Kimchi
This is a small side dish, a typical Korean appetizer to cleanse the palate. It's fermented cabbage with garlic, ginger, and chili — strong, spicy flavors. It's good but you need to get used to it. It costs €4.
