The story
Tucked away on Via XX Settembre in the heart of La Morra, Osteria Amore e Maine is the kind of trattoria that feels like a secret worth sharing. Habemus Fame, in a video spotlighting chef Enrico Marmo, calls it a “reference point for locals and wine producers” where the food delivers “honest, immediate flavours that taste like grandma's cooking.” The menu stays firmly in the Piedmontese canon: Carne Cruda, Insalata Russa, Vitello Tonnato, and a pair of pastas—Tagliarini al Ragù and Plin di Langa—plus a classic Bonet to close. No frills, just precision.
This is a place built on familiarity, not flash. With a 4.4-star rating and a loyal following among those who know Langa best, Osteria Amore e Maine earns its reputation dish by dish. It’s the rare spot where the warmth of hospitality meets the discipline of a kitchen that respects tradition, making it an essential stop for anyone craving the real flavour of La Morra.

AI summary of what 6 dish mentions say about the food
Reviewers rave about the Bonet, a silky, bittersweet chocolate pudding that steals the show. The overall vibe is warm, rustic, and deeply comforting, like a hug from an Italian grandmother.
“This is truly my favourite dessert. The consistency feels like panna cotta rather than bonet. You can taste the cocoa, you can taste the amaretti. It's perfect.”

CHEF STELLATI IN TRATTORIA - EP:5 Pranzo in Langa con lo chef Enrico Marmo · @ 0:44
A traditional trattoria in the heart of La Morra, a reference point for locals and wine producers, serving honest, immediate flavours that taste like grandma's cooking.
Dishes mentioned
Carne Cruda
The meat is barely touched, cut right here at the moment, and seasoned minimally. The flavours are true and immediate — I can never find anything wrong with it. It's a safe harbour, this place.
Insalata Russa
This Russian salad is amazing. It's a classic that reminds me of my family — they used to make it often. The flavours are spot on.
Vitello Tonnato
I go crazy for vitello tonnato. My maternal grandmother is the greatest cook in history — a monument. Hers were top level. Here they are more or less the same. It's one of the dishes I would absolutely put in my own trattoria.
Tagliarini al Ragù
The ragù is dry, crumbly, just like the greatest traditional Italian recipes — it changes from door to door. Here it tastes truly like grandma's. The ragù made in the morning for lunch will never be as good as the next day's. They respect that. The flavour is incredible — light spice, very light, a bit of pepper, the soffritto base, some red wine. This is the taste of ragù by definition. The only thing I regret is not being able to do the scarpetta because the plate isn't dirty enough.
Plin di Langa
These plin have an incredible aroma. They're Langa plin — normally a bit smaller, I don't know why, but they've been making them with butter and sage for ages. They're nicely aromatic. I don't mind them at all. I would put Parmesan on them — I'd put Parmesan even on melon, even though I do a job where someone might frown upon it, I don't care.
