Locanda Gesù Vecchio’s polpette napoletane steal the show, earning rapturous praise for their tender, soulful flavor. The overall vibe is one of warm, unpretentious comfort, making every bite feel like a genuine embrace.
“Ale ordered just protein — the Neapolitan meatballs, beautiful meatballs in sauce with minced veal, pork, other meats, and the sweet touch of raisins and pine nuts. They are delicious, important like the ones grandma makes on Sundays, and I taste the sweetness of the raisins and as you can see there are also pine nuts. This dish is very rich.”

Locanda Gesù Vecchio has a spectacular menu with generous portions, offering traditional Neapolitan dishes at a reasonable price.

Spaghettiello a Base di Sugna, Pecorino, Pepe e Uovo Fritto
I finally tried one of the few Neapolitan traditional dishes I had never tasted in my life — spaghettiello with sugna, pecorino, pepper, and a fried egg on top. I also note the Neapolitan generosity of the portions. I need to Google the nearest emergency room after finishing this pasta dish. The beauty of poor cuisine is that often the poor ate and eat better than the rich. This is a spectacle. It's basically a cacio e pepe supercharged by the sugna and enriched by the fried egg.
