The story
Languorino American Panini Institution brings an affordable, creative spin to sandwich culture in the heart of Rome. Located on Piazza della Maddalena, this spot specializes in Italian-American panini that blend unexpected ingredients with familiar flavors. It is the perfect destination for those seeking a departure from Rome’s typical sandwich offerings, as the menu balances classic staples like the cheeseburger with bold, experimental fusion concepts.
Creator Romaffamata praised the venue's inventive approach, noting that two out of three dishes were particularly enjoyable, including a unique panino topped with guaian, caramelized pineapple, raw onion, provola, hamburger, and lettuce. While the menu ventures into adventurous territory—such as a hot dog crowned with fried spaghetti, pizzaiola sauce, meatballs, and cheese—the experience remains accessible. For diners looking to explore where tradition meets experimentation without breaking the bank, Languorino delivers a memorable, unconventional meal.

Reviewers praise the Cheeseburger as the standout dish, delivering a messy, indulgent bite. The overall vibe is comfortingly familiar, with hearty American classics served in a relaxed, unpretentious setting.
“Inside the cheeseburger we have their sauce, cucumber, lettuce, no bacon because it's not a bacon cheeseburger. The bread is soft, not bad — maybe it presents even better than the other one. The burger inside I like a lot, the last experiences have that role of freshness but also crunch, good flavor. The sauce has an aftertaste that I don't love, but that's my personal taste.”

A delivery-only spot in Cinecittà with affordable, experimental Italian-American sandwiches — the first two were good, the hot dog with fried spaghetti was a miss.

Panino con Guaian, Ananas Caramellata e Cipolla Cruda
This sandwich has caramelized pineapple, but honestly it doesn't seem caramelized to me — maybe just grilled. The meat is very spicy and savory, and the sauce isn't spicy but gives a spicy sensation. The onion is raw, sweet but strong, so it's very salty together with the sweetness of the pineapple. I think it works, the job is done well. I don't taste the ham much, but it's experimental. Definitely not like our Italian places, but a valid contrast.
Cheeseburger
Inside the cheeseburger we have their sauce, cucumber, lettuce, no bacon because it's not a bacon cheeseburger. The bread is soft, not bad — maybe it presents even better than the other one. The burger inside I like a lot, the last experiences have that role of freshness but also crunch, good flavor. The sauce has an aftertaste that I don't love, but that's my personal taste.
Hot Dog con Spaghetti Fritti e Salsa Pizzaiola
Inside there's fried spaghetti, pizzaiola sauce, oregano, a meatball with chicken and pork and parmesan, and mozzarella. The spaghetti inside is fun, but the sauce I don't like because the meatball is too hard — really too hard, and under-seasoned. It could have been a fun thing, but unfortunately despite the first two sandwiches we liked, this last one we didn't like. It was the most experimental thing.

A legendary sandwich shop in Rome city center with huge queues, but the sandwiches are worth the wait — especially the bacon one.

La Winter
This sandwich has a huge pile of bacon falling out with each bite. It's well worth the money — excellent sandwich. The only drawback is the bread is not warm; they didn't toast or heat it up, but the place is just crazy busy. I'd give it 8.5 out of 10.
La Dicembre
This one has Tuscan prosciutto and some spread. It's a very nice sandwich with fresh ingredients and nice bread, but I prefer the first one with bacon — it's easier to chew and has more taste. The cheese inside is quite good. I'd give it 7 to 7.5 out of 10.
