The story

Tucked into San Salvario, La Terrasanta has quietly become one of Turin’s most talked-about Palestinian spots. Franchino Er Criminale calls its shish kebab “exceptional,” noting the great sauces and care in every ingredient. Sandrino raves about a giant vegetarian sandwich with hummus and pomegranate sauce, while Giuliacrossbow—who visited twice—declares the falafel standout and the kebab misto manzo e agnello among the city’s best.

On a second visit, Giuliacrossbow discovered a full spread of flavorful shawarma, rich hummus with meat, chicken skewers, shish taouk, and even baklava—nearly everything earning a thumbs-up. At an accessible price point, this Palestinian gem proves that the best street food often flies under the radar. With unanimous praise from local creators, La Terrasanta is a genuine hidden gem in Turin.

AI summary of what 9 dish mentions say about the food

Crisp, herbaceous falafel steals the show at La Terrasanta, earning praise for its texture and flavor. The overall vibe is warm and inviting, with consistently satisfying Mediterranean fare.

These are the best falafel I've ever eaten. They're freshly made, freshly fried, beautiful green, and steaming hot. They're full of garlic, and the sesame on top is toasted and crunchy under your teeth, giving a different texture and a real sesame flavor.

They gave me three falafel for free while I was waiting — they were just fried, with a mousse. They are among the best falafel I've ever tasted. I've eaten a lot of falafel, and these have nothing to do with the ones most kebab places offer. Look how green they are inside — beautiful.

I think these are the best falafel I've ever eaten in my life. They offered them to us with tea, and they were incredible.

La Terrasanta offers a delicious and authentic Middle Eastern experience with standout falafel, flavorful shawarma, and rich hummus.

    Dishes mentioned

    • Hummus con carne

This hummus with meat is new to me. The minced meat is quite coarse and delicious. The hummus has a very blended consistency, like a pâté, balanced. It's really good.

    • Falafel

These are the best falafel I've ever eaten. They're freshly made, freshly fried, beautiful green, and steaming hot. They're full of garlic, and the sesame on top is toasted and crunchy under your teeth, giving a different texture and a real sesame flavor.

    • Focaccia

The focaccia is really hot, with wild thyme, and it's cooked perfectly. It almost reminds me of a pizza, but it's not. I dip it in oil and thyme, which is a bit sour, and it's very good.

    • Shawarma

Look how well toasted it is, the meat is cooked to perfection, not dry at all inside. Really made properly. The bread pocket is beautiful and filled generously, with semolina on the base.

A Palestinian restaurant that makes incredible kebabs and the best falafel I've ever had. The owner is super kind, everything is made fresh, and the shawarma is almost perfect.

    • Falafel

I think these are the best falafel I've ever eaten in my life. They offered them to us with tea, and they were incredible.

    • Shawarma

I took the shawarma with chicken. The chicken is nice and chubby, juicy, cooked well, not dry, it's browned, cut by knife so you get different thicknesses. It's plump, it's a pleasure to eat this kebab. The mix of vegetables gives it so much freshness, besides the onions there are pickles. The sauces are all made by them, excellent. The only flaw is the bottom part of the bread, I would have given it a bit more cooking, it's a bit elastic. Otherwise it's a perfect kebab, I'd travel from anywhere to eat this sandwich. I give it a 10 minus because of the bread.
