The story

Tucked away on Via Grigna in Cinisello Balsamo, Forno Gelmini is a pastry shop with a stellar 4.7-star rating that feels like a true neighborhood secret. Creator Franchino Er Criminale stumbled upon it by chance and promptly declared it an excellent bakery, calling it a “hidden gem in the neighborhood” in his *Forni criminali BARONA Milano* review.

The menu earns high marks across the board. Franchino singled out the zeppola and the tortino di mela e cannella (apple tart) as amazing, while also praising the focaccias—both the bianca and al pomodoro versions. With tags like “neighborhood-favorite” and “traditional,” Forno Gelmini delivers classic Italian pastries and takeaway focaccias that clearly leave a lasting impression on those lucky enough to find it.

Forno Gelmini’s zeppola earns rapturous praise, a warm, airy delight that defines the kitchen’s soul. The overall vibe is one of unpretentious, heartfelt Italian comfort, leaving reviewers charmed and satisfied.

The zeppola is almost incredible, especially for being in Milan. It's better than many zeppole I've eaten in Naples. I've eaten better zeppole in Naples, but in few places; in most cases I've eaten zeppole less good than this. This is better than many zeppole I've encountered in Naples. I'd give it an 8.5, but I won't give it a 9 because the other focaccias weren't perfect. But what I ate was all very good, tending towards 9.

An excellent bakery discovered by chance, with amazing zeppola and apple tart. The focaccias are also very good. A hidden gem in the neighborhood.

This apple and cinnamon tart costs €3.50 but it's big. The pastry is crumbly and crunchy just right, the apple filling makes you really enjoy it. It's sweet just right, not too sweet, it leaves room for the apple and cinnamon flavor — the cinnamon is felt but doesn't cover everything, like often happens. This is an excellent product. I'd give it an 8.5.
