Reviewers rave about the briny, sea-fresh riccio di mare, served simply and perfectly. The overall vibe is one of joyful, unpretentious Catalan indulgence.

Sea urchin — we had it with tuna and tomato, and also with anchovies and goat cheese.

It's a nice place — they basically serve you tinned stuff, which sounds a bit derogatory but actually you can eat some very good things like the sea cucumber. It's cheap, characteristic, and even though it's become more touristy since we first came, it's still worth trying tapas and montaditos. We'll keep it on our maps.

    Dishes mentioned

    • Cetriolo di Mare

This is the sea cucumber — it costs a lot but it's supposed to be a delicacy. It has a very delicate texture, absolutely not slimy, it resembles baked fish. Really interesting. It's very salty, that's the only thing that surprised me. Well, it tastes of the sea but it's super delicate.

    • Acciughe con Olive

The olives are stuffed — very good.

    • Riccio di Mare

Sea urchin — we had it with tuna and tomato, and also with anchovies and goat cheese.

    • Tonno e Peperoni

Tuna with peppers and olives — I think that's it. Compared to last time, the toasted bread slices are rectangular now, not round anymore — a crucial detail, they sound like biscotti.
