The story
At first glance, Çiğ Köfteci appears a single-note street stall, but it pulls off a delightful double act. Mark Wiens calls it legendary for its fresh, vibrant çiğ köfte—raw meat and walnut versions of this classic Turkish street food. Then, as Where The Foodies Go discovered, this same spot serves kataifi cake and baklava they deem arguably as good as famous neighbour Hafız Mustafa, minus the queue.
This no-frills, hole-in-the-wall in Fatih delivers both spicy hand-formed wraps and syrupy-sweet finishes with quiet confidence. Whether you're after a quick savory bite or a dessert without the tourist crush, Çiğ Köfteci earns its reputation bite after bite.

AI summary of what 3 dish mentions say about the food
The house-made çiğ köfte earns unanimous praise for its bold, fresh spice blend. Reviewers describe the overall vibe as an unpretentious, deeply satisfying taste of authentic Turkish street food.
“That is incredible — so refreshing, spicy, the lemon juice, all the spices in there, the pepperiness, the herbal, oh and the complexity the flavor just keeps on building. It's spicy, flavorful, crispy, fresh. Man that's tasty and nutty, sweet and sour, the flavor of that bulgur wheat — oh it's spectacular. The meat version has a small ratio of meat, it's not that heavy on the meat so you barely even notice there's raw meat inside, mostly focuses on the bulgur plus all of those spices that are so vibrant. The walnut version tastes very similar but you do get that crunch of the walnut, a little nuttier flavor, the acidity, the tartness of the tomato paste, but what really comes in so vibrantly is that pepper paste, that red pepper paste, the spice, the flavor. The texture of the bulgur and all of those herbs — oh what a magical delight.”

A place serving excellent kataifi cake and baklava, arguably as good as the more famous neighbour Hafız Mustafa but without the queue.

Torta di Pasta Kataifi con Gelato al Latte
I got a slice of cake that's actually all kataifi pastry with orange blossom and rose syrup depending on the producer, a cascade of pistachio, and ice cream. The ice cream is milk ice cream with mastic and salep — that elastic one that the ice cream sellers use to do tricks on the street, the one we already told you about — in a wrapper overflowing with sugar syrup, fragrance of kataifi pastry and pistachios like it's raining. Do you need me to tell you it's good? And I think the kataifi pastry they make here is no worse than the more famous Hafız Mustafa right next door. At Hafız there's an atomic queue tonight, here I think it's a place for the brave.
Mix di Baklava Pistacchio, Noce e Cioccolato
I ordered a mix of baklava with pistachio, walnut and chocolate. Chocolate and pistachio. A unique wonder. It's delicious. This one is orgasmic, super chocolatey, not too sweet, and with pistachio it's divine. This one finishes in second place, but we're talking 9.8 and 10 to give you an idea.
