I asked to add bacon, but they said no because otherwise you wouldn't taste the moose properly, so they know their stuff. The smash is very good, well made. You can tell it's not beef, and thank goodness because otherwise why would I have paid double what Alessia paid for her sandwich? You can taste that typical moose flavour, which we know well from living in Canada — it's gamey but not like other ungulates. It's a bit stronger than deer, I think, but less strong than roe deer. It's very good. We've eaten it often, and this sandwich did justice to this giant of the woods.
