The story
Tucked away on Broadway in NoMad, Ambassadors Club brings upscale Indian cooking centered on a charcoal tandoori oven. Jack’s Dining Room, who visited in search of the city’s best new Indian food, calls the results “incredibly flavorful dishes” that “rival the best in the world,” though he notes the spice level can be intense.
The menu delivers bold, well-executed tandoori classics. Jack singled out the Tandoori Barbecue Butter Chicken Chops and the 24-Hour Yogurt Marinade Tandoori Lamb Chop, along with Ve Cheeks on Garlic Naan with Crispy Onions and a deeply layered Lamb Biryani. A Seven Layer Mango Sundae offers a cool finish. This is a serious destination for tandoori-driven Indian cuisine.

AI summary of what 5 dish mentions say about the food
The lamb biryani is the undisputed star, praised for its fragrant, tender meat. Reviewers describe the overall vibe as a warm, refined dining experience.
“The biryani has whole layers of spice. I took the broad head and sucked it dry — I don't know if I was ready for this level of spice, I'm just a white kid from Connecticut wearing a white shirt to an Indian spice feast, probably one of my worst ideas this year.”

Dishes mentioned
Tandoori Barbecue Butter Chicken Chops
These butter chicken chops have the butter chicken sauce leaking out the backside — it's some juicy ass chicken. The sauce is incredible, not sweet at all, a little spicy in the best way. With some garlic naan this would go to the moon.
24-Hour Yogurt Marinade Tandoori Lamb Chop
This lamb chop is $32 a chop, and I think if you're going to charge that, it's got to taste all of those $32 good. Absolutely worth it — I would have paid $50. The lamb is so tender, my teeth cut through it like butter. I'd put these toe to toe with Jim Kana, some of the best lamb chops I've had in the world.
Lamb Biryani
The biryani has whole layers of spice. I took the broad head and sucked it dry — I don't know if I was ready for this level of spice, I'm just a white kid from Connecticut wearing a white shirt to an Indian spice feast, probably one of my worst ideas this year.
Ve Cheeks on Garlic Naan with Crispy Onions
We got the ve cheeks on some garlic naan topped with the crispy onions from the biryani. Are you kidding me? The ve just melts in your mouth and the curry is phenomenal — a little sweet. The garlic naan is still warm, crunchy and soft. After the lamb chops, I think this is my second favorite dish.
Seven Layer Mango Sundae
For dessert, we have this seven layer mango sundae. They import the mangoes from India — who does that? Oh, god damn it. Wow, that's incredible. After all that spice, that's like exactly what you need.
